"SCHOOOOOL'S OUT FOR SUMMER!!"

So today is the very last day of school and the kids are SOOOOOO excited for Summer to start! Although both the boys said they were going to miss their teachers A LOT! But to start the summer off we were able to spend it a really fun and "cool" way! Thanks to Myken's sister Marshelle who just lives a couple of blocks away, she hosted a really fun party loaded with water slides, karaoke, food, and fun, and LOTS of kids! What a great way to start summer!

A little Bling Bling

Remembering our loved ones

Today was really nice to be able to teach the kids what Memorial Day is really all about. Ever since I was a little girl, we would go every year and visit my relatives that had passed away, so I wanted my kids to know what a great day to be able to honor and remember some things about our family and friends that are gone. We were able to visit quite a few graves today, my Grandpa Beal and my moms little brother Calvin that died when she was just a little girl, my Grandma Black, my dad's best friend Bruce that was just like a part of our family, our great friend Josh (this is always a hard one to visit because we're all still emotional about it), me and Jake's good friend from high school Troy, my little nephew Davey, Jake's grandpa Murph, and of course our Dutchy! I loved hearing stories that the kids remembered about those that they knew! It was a really great time to be together!


This is Taylor's sweet letter to Dutch! It says, "Dear Dutch, you are the best dog in the world. I miss you so much. And now I am seven. I hope you are happy in heaven, and Mya is two. Love Taylor!" He really is the sweetest little guy ever. I love that he wanted to write a letter and draw a picture for Dutch, what a thoughtful little guy!


This is Dallin's little letter to Dutchy that says, "Dear Dutchy, I'm sad and hope you come alive. When you come alive I will be an old man. I love and miss you. Love Dallin!" How cute is he? He always asks when will Dutchy come back alive and tell me, how do you explain the 2nd coming to a 5 year old? He just always says will I be an old man and I say yes.

This is my Grandpa Beal's grave! He died when I was about 12! I remember going to Rock Port with him and my grandma for a few summers! He was a quiet man, but always so nice to me!


This is my Grandma Black's grave! She passed away when I was eight years old. I wished that I remembered more about her, but I love that no matter when I saw her she was ALWAYS so so sweet!

Why oh why can't the annuals last more than their "time" once they have bloomed? We bought some ground cover, keep in mind only maybe 4 little squares about 2 years ago and look at our beautiful purple carpet that has taken over. We are thinking of transplanting it to other areas to start growing. Already it has started to turn just green, which is okay, but come on, the purple is so so pretty. We still have a long way to go on our yard, especially the back, but I just love looking at everything in bloom!

On Sunday we decided to have a yummy Mexican BBQ up the canyon with the fam and some friends. We had yummy carne asada, rice, beans, salads, and some yummy shrimp pepper things that Mario and Marta made, (seriously they make the best food ever!) It was GREAT to hang out and chill up in the canyon. We've decided that we are going to do this a lot this summer, we really have missed being up there!

How do I put it in words how I feel about my best friend, when saying that he is honestly the most amazing guy ever just doesn't do him justice. I met Jake in 5th grade and love that I can say that we have been BEST friends ever since. I love that he loves me no matter what and in fact tells me that he loves me more and more everyday. Despite my flaws, weaknesses, shortcomings, getting old and chubby (that's what we like to call it, keep in mind in high school his nickname for me was SLIM, that just doesn't fit anymore dang it!) But he truly loves me, me for the woman I have become, the wife that I am, and the momma that I am to our sweet kids!

There has always been something special and different about Jake and I, we just always knew that we would be together, even back in high school and then when I waited for him on his mission. Nobody compares to Jake!! It's true that throughout our 22 years of knowing each other (did I just say 22 years, WOWZERS) we have had some challenges, but we have always worked through with each other, knowing that no matter what, we had each other. I feel so blessed that 12 years ago today, May 16th 1997, we were married for all time and eternity and that we have forever with each other, in fact we call each other "eternal buddies!", cheezy I know, but in way kind of cute right? I love Jake with every ounce of my heart and soul and more. I love that I want to be a better person for him, because more than anything, he deserves to have the best.

So tonight we are actually going on a date, that doesn't happen too often with us and I can't WAIT!! Of course I'll have to post about our good time. So until then.......

We had a great time talking and hanging out. We also went and saw Wolverine, LOVED it. Thanks babe for a great night out.

My Cravings

Ok, so with this pregnancy I am finding out that IT IS TRUE that pregnant women do crave pickles. I don't think I have ever bought a jar of pickles and here I am with a few in my fridge. In fact, within 2 days I ate a whole jar! I find it interesting with each pregnancy how different they are. With this one I definitely LOVE anything, sour, salty, and loaded with vinegar! For those of you that know me, know that I have always been a treat and sweets person, and they don't even phase me! Let's hope that it will last!!

I am finally starting to feel a little better! In fact I haven't thrown up for a whole 5 days, oh please oh please let it last!!! I still get nauseated, but nothing like I did! I think I'm finally turning that corner, and at 14 weeks that's not too bad! I am just so grateful to be pregnant again and that everything so far is going great!

Happy Mother's Day

So today has been kind of CRAZY Mother's day because of some extended family things that are honestly sad beyond anything, but with everything that has gone on, it just makes me SOOOOO grateful for my sweet little family! I am truly so blessed to be a mom to these kids. They bring me so much happiness, some days craziness, but more than anything I want them to know that there is nothing else I would rather be than there mommy! Thankyou my sweet babies for allowing me the opportunity and choosing me to be your mom. I love you all!

WICKED

On Sunday night a bunch of the fam all went to see WICKED the Broadway musical. I have never seen something so amazing before. I have seen it 3 times now (once in New York, once in Arizona, and now here in Salt Lake), and I cry every single time. It has the most powerful and amazing music and you can't help but fall in love with each of the characters. I promise you that you will all end up LOVING the green witch from the Wizard of Oz, she was completely misunderstood. I love that they tie in the Wizard of Oz, the only word for it is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!
