IRISH pride!

Mya just loves wearing hats, in fact she wore this one at least half the day. This is Jakes Irish Murphy hat, I call it his good luck hat. Doesn't she look adorable?

Wordless Wednesday (with words) - Sweet Mullet!

This is Jake's cousin Omar from Mexico, who is honestly the nicest guy ever, and Mya just loved him. I think she not only liked him, but she loved his mullet. His family tells him to cut it all the time, but he says he gets lots of ladies with it. Um, Omar I think you're behind the times by like 2 decades, hee hee!

Our fun Weekend!

I have to admit, I was a little disappointed when we all went to hike to Timp Cave and they said it would be a 4 hour wait. Um try telling 6 kids under the age of 6 to wait 4 hours before we are going to see the "Bat Cave!" So we all decided to hike to Stewart Falls. We always have a great time with the Pettersson's and this time we got to show them a little beautiful site of American Fork Canyon. The boys had fun playing in the water and Taylor even ran through the falls to get all wet. He was so proud of himself. We still want to try to hike to Timp but obviously we won't be going on a Saturday.

Later that night my little fam went to a Quicinera for one of Jake's cousins. It was really cute and nice to see a bunch of Jake's family from Mexico. Jake was so cute to dance with his mom, she is the best little dancer ever. And Mya I think is taking after her because she loves to dance too, especially with daddy!

We made it!

Happy 24th of July!

We decided to go a little hike for the 24th up American Fork Canyon. It was beautiful on our hike and we even got to see lots of butterflies and flowers. Even though it was WAY hot, the boys had a good time. I'm not so sure about Mya, she was a little cranky, but at least she was being carried by daddy.

Little Goo!

He's my "super" hiker.

Mya was kind of cranky on this hike.

There were a ton of butterflies on our hike and Taylor caught a bunch!

I took this picture, not too bad huh?

Can't it be called a Birthweek instead of a Birthday?

Jenny, Kristen, and Me!

I think I am trying to drag this one out as long as I can and thanks to the help of my sweet friends Jenny and Kristen I can call this my birthweek instead of birthday. Tonight they took me out to our very favorite "Cheesecake Factory!" We had such a good time just hanging out. Of course the food was great, but the company even better. What a good time I had just catching up and I have to say, I love that my friends are always up for a picture, just like me. Thanks girls, you both are amazing friends!

Ok, we loved it so much we even licked the plate, or ate the plate???

Yummy cheesecake, ok how does chocolate peanut butter cookie dough sound? TASTY!!

Steel Days Fun!

This picture is hilarious, look where the lady is pointing her gun! Um, is she trying to tell me something?

This year Steel Days landed exactly on my birthday so we had an extra fun day. It started with all my family going to the parade and then to lunch. After we took the kids to the carney and they loved it. Even Mya was so excited to go on all the rides. Taylor talked me into going on the ring of fire, um yah you hang upside down for what seems like forever, he's such a little dare-devil and I'm a sucker to follow him. We had a good time. After we got snow cones and watched the car cruise then went to Anges for a BBQ and then watched the fireworks. It was definitely a fun filled day and I loved that I spent it with all the fam.

Look at this giant!

Watching the flags go by. Doesn't Shayla and my dad look so patriotic:)?

Poor Tay got hurt before the parade even started. We even had a cop bring us some ice packs for his knees, poor guy!

Watching the parade!

Waiting for candy!

We even got to see all the princesses in the parade!

The boys LOVED this ride! Dallin just looks so little in this.

Mya's very favorite is the horsey ride!

The boys loved the roller coaster!

Mya loved the little dragon!

My little dare devil. Taylor loved all the big scary rides, especially the zipper!

Birthday Celebration!

Me and Maddi!

So me and my cute niece Maddi have our birthday's only one day apart. Today we celebrated both hers and mine together. Bek made us each our own birthday hats (I think that Bek should go into business with all of her creative and cute things she makes) and we had yummy cupcakes and opened presents. It was fun to get together with all the family. Maddi is such a sweet little girl, (well young lady now that she is 15 years old) and I love having us share our days together.

It's ABOUT TIME!!

Look at this little sweet heart! Well now that she is almost 10 years old I have decided it is time to wean my sweet little baby girl. I know I know, many of you are thinking, WOW she is really old to be nursing, but for some reason we both just loved it. I know that it was all for comfort for her and so the older she has gotten the harder it has been to wean her. Well Angi invited us to go on a river rafting trip in a month and I said the only way we would be able to go is if I wean Mya. I really want us to go on this trip, (Jake and I have not been on a trip together since Taylor was born almost 7 years ago) so I finally am doing it.

My boys were not this hard, they were weaned by a year old so I never in a million years thought I would be "one of those people" who nurse their kids past 18 months, (Mya just turned 18 months about 2 weeks ago!) I have made it exactly 40 hours as of now and I have to say this is one of the most painful things ever. I am crazily engorged and have had to bind me with an ace wrap, not only to try to dry up, but to actually hide my "boo boos" ,as Mya would say, so that she doesn't see them. In a way it's actually kind of funny, but I can tell you this, I am not laughing right now. I just want this done! Luckily Jake is out of town so he doesn't have to hear sweet little Mya cry for boo boo! How did I ever let it get to this? Hopefully it will be a funny story to tell her when she is older. I hope that it will only take one more sleepless night and then we will be done!

This is SOOOOOOOOO Painful! OUCH! I have ace wraps around me and all I want to do is sit in a hot bath to let it all out. OOOOHHH but I promise I won't.

I got to hang out with a SUPERHERO!!

Brady Thompson
http://www.heraldextra.com/brady/
This is a really cool site that has done a whole story about Brady, please check it out.
Today was a really neat day for me, I actually got to hang out with a superhero. I started my new job in Hospice and have loved every minute of it (except for learning all the computer charting, wow there is a lot), but I have met some really amazing people. Today was a extra special day because I got to spend some one on one time with a superhero named Brady Thompson. In fact we even got to play some basketball together and I would have to say that he can definitely hold his own. That's not saying much playing against me, but he really knows how to shoot the ball.

Brady suffers from a disorder that causes hundreds of seizures to happen on a daily basis in his tiny little body. In fact I saw probably 40 in just the hour that I was with him. This kid is amazing! He is only 16 years old, but has the spirit of a 60 year old man. He is sweet, loving, caring, but most of all happy. Although he has every thing against him, he is still happy. It really put a lot of things into perspective for me today, "don't sweat the small stuff" is all I could think of. Enjoy life, even it's trials, because my trials hardly compare to his or his sweet family. The hardest part for me was watching a video that showed Brady riding his bike when he was 8 years old with no limitations. He could walk normal, talk normal, play normal, and now that has all changed. I have learned a lot from this spiritual giant today and I am so grateful for the opportunity I have to spend some quality time with him. In fact he will be in the Lindon Days parade in a couple of weeks and my kids are so excited to go and meet this amazing kid that mom has talked all day about.

Murphy Family Reunion!

All of the fam!!

We had a great time at the Murphy family reunion this year. For the last couple of years we have camped up at Crystal Hot Springs with our tents and then we swim at the pools all day long. Every year the family just gets bigger and bigger, I think we counted over 80 people this year. Wow! My kids always look forward to the reunion and I love seeing all the cousins and hanging out. Jake's family really is so great to be with. Here's just some highlights of the trip!

Wee ha, Dallin and Quinci are riding with Jake and David in this little boat, they loved it.!

Now it's Taylor and Jaden's turn!

This is just a few of us. On one of the nights we play a white elephant Bingo, the kids just love it.
