Can I poke my eyes out...........................!

Aren't they so cute?

Ok, so I'm not trying to be dramatic with my title, but I have to tell you that for some reason this year, the circus was sooooooo CHEEEEEEEZY to me! Don't get me wrong there were a lot of cool things about it, and the best part of all was my sweet bro-in-law David hooked us up with free tickets that were in a suite, (that was way cool!), but the circus itself was a flop. Taylor kept looking at me when the ringmaster would sing horribly cheezy songs, come on one song was called, "The Queen of the Clouds!" so for just this song alone, I wanted to poke my eyeballs out, (thus the title of my post!) Dramatic I know! In and of itself, the idea of the circus is great, the kids loved the animals, the motorcycles were by far the best thing there, and the cool tricks. I think what threw me off was all the singing and dancing that looked and sounded as if we were at some elementary school play, no offense to elementary school kids. So even though I got some cute pics of the kids and we were able to sit in very cool and comfy seats, I will have to say that I am going to pass on going to the circus for a LONG time.

Triston, Mya, Taylor, Jaden, Dallin, and Quinci

The "braloooo's" as Mya would say!

The kids with the tickets

Definitely the coolest part!

This was hilarious, Dallin seriously sat like this up in the suite and watched most of it on the TV. The funniest part was he acted like he was right at home because he yells across the room, "Mom, I want chocolate mwilk!" Just like he does at home!

Me with my kiddos, before the madness begins! Keep in mind 3/4 of the way through Dallin starts crying, "I want to go home!" We're at the stinkin circus for cryin out loud, who would want to go home from that???? Well this one, I can see why!

Boy does he deserve this!

Jake and Nate ready to go!

I am so happy that Jake was able to go and do something for himself and to be doing something that he loves most. He is such a hard worker and really never takes time for himself so I'm so glad that he was able to do this. Jake and our neighbor Nate went on an overnighter up to Lake Hardy. Now if you don't know where Lake Hardy is, it's up to the very top of the Alpine mountain and honestly whoever has hiked this will agree with me (I've done this 3 times), it is one brutal hike, but worth every steep step you take. They left yesterday around noon and were back today around 4:00 p.m. Jake said that it was AMAZING, that this time of year is the best to go. He really enjoyed hanging out with Nate, what a great guy he is, and loved that he was able to go backpacking. He says that he wants to get back into this, I think it would be a great idea, it was so good for him to go.

Funny thing though, he is already walking like an old man from how sore he is, so I'm thinking that tomorrow he is going to be hurting even more. He says this is his motivator, he is getting back in shape. I'm just glad that he had a such a good time.

I'm on it!

I just have to document my feelings today so that I can look back and remember this and HOPEFULLY that will keep me motivated. Today I actually got off my butt and went with Myken on a brisk, (man was I sweating), 3 1/2 mile walk pushing Mya in her stroller. I know that more than wanting to shed a few pounds, I just want to feel better. For some reason I have been feeling a little blah the past while and I KNOW that any sort of exercise will help me feel better. Why is it SOOOOOOO hard to get into the habit? I get so jealous, (I know that seems immature), of people that make it a priority and are motivated because I know that they feel better about themselves. I would love any advice to help me get there. Myken, thanks so much for calling this morning and getting me out. Not only are you the Best friend ever, you are a great motivator. Sure do love ya.

Mya LOVES her shoes!

Mya just LOVES these shoes! I was cleaning out the boys closet and found these shoes and ever since then she wants to wear them and cries if she can't. So even though they are about 3 sizes too big, she just LOVES them.

"Momma look!"

Such a poser!

What Makes You HAPPY!

The idea of this tag is that you have to list 10 things that make you happy. What are the things that tickle your fancy, make you smile or still give you that butterfly sensation? What things to do you seek out and truly enjoy? The only rule is that you can't say your kids, spouse, family, friends.......that would be WAY TOO EASY!!! And these are in no particular order.

1. I love to hear the sound of laughter, especially my kids laughing. I just love hearing that people are happy and love that laughing is actually very contagious.

2. I love camping, hiking, and anything to do with mountains, especially Canyonlands, like I mentioned before. I have some really great memories of the mountains and always feel very happy whenever I am there.

Jack Johnson

Dave Matthews
3. I LOVE music and if you know me at all you know that I LOVE Jack and Dave, they are my boyfriends. I love how music just puts you in a good mood no matter what you are feeling. I love that it makes you want to get up and get your groove on. And I LOVE that I can sing like I'm a rock star when there is music playing, because you would not want to hear me without the music in the background, I promise!

4. Disneyland! I just love Disneyland, honestly I could go once a month and would NEVER get sick of it. I love seeing how excited my kids get on every ride, meeting the characters, and just being seriously at the happiest place on earth. I just LOVE it.

5. My birthday, or any birthday at that where I get to come and help celebrate always makes me happy. I just love any chance to get together with family and friends and birthday's seem to always be the right occasion. I don't however love getting older, but I do love the celebrating.

6. Ok I have to say that Nutter Butter cookie dough shakes from Artic Circle make me way to entirely Happy. Not so much after I have eaten them, but while I am eating them I am in heaven! Yummy Yummy, you should really try one!

7. Flowers make me Happy, especially when I see them in our yard! I love one of the first signs of spring is seeing the flowers bloom. I love a wide variety of them and only wish that they lasted a lot longer than they do. Thank goodness for anuals.

8. Hot Summer Days make me VERY Happy! Ever since I was a little girl, I LOVED the summer. It meant long days playing outside until it actually got dark, swimming, night games, popsicles, picnics, playing in the hut, my birthday, carnivals, parades, BBQ's, camping, riding our bikes all day long, laying on the hot concrete after swimming just to get warm, laying out, a nice tan, summer clothes, and best of all No school. Still to this day, summer is my favorite season, I love everything that comes with it.

9. If you know me at all you know that one of the very most things that makes me happy is going on a vacation, anytime, anywhere. I LOVE vacations, everything about them. My very favorite thing about vacations, is seeing my kids faces when we are doing something fun or amazing and seeing somewhere new. One day Jake and I would love to take our kids somewhere big like Hawaii or perhaps Peru, who knows?

10. And Of course what makes me happy is pictures and photography. I grew up with a camera in my face, (my dad is a photographer) and I have always loved taking pictures and looking at pictures, especially of my kids. I love going to photography shows, in fact so does Taylor which I am estatic about, woo hoo he has a love for art as well. But one thing is for sure, I will always have my camera with me, wherever I am, you just never know when an opportunity for a good pic will come my way.

I tag EVERYONE because this was seriously fun and what a good way to let us know a little bit more about you. Also it really gets you thinking about what it is that truly makes you happy, besides the obvious. Have fun

Momma freaking out

Okay so yesterday Mya was eating a blue icee on the counter and spilled the icee ALL OVER the counter and floor and I walked in and said, "OH MYA, WHAT ARE YOU DOING, RRRRGGGGHHH?" But this is not how she saw it, watch the video and see how she saw me. How sad if this is actually how I sound to her, heaven help me! So dang funny!

Happy 94th Birthday Gramps!

This is my sweet Grandpa Bud that turns 94 years old today. Me, Dallin, Mya, Dad, Mom, Ange, Shayla, Jennifer, and Justin all took him to lunch for his birthday. The one thing that I just adore about my grandpa is that he honestly has the greatest memory of when he was a kid, in fact I have heard several of the stories numerous times and he just doesn't miss any little detail each and every time. It's sad because he is starting to forget things and people now, but boy he sure does remember things of the past. I have missed spending time with him so this was a good little outing with all the fam. Sure do love ya gramps!

Mya showing Grandpa her awesome new shoes, (Yah they are actually Dallin's old shoes that she is obsessed with!)

Beautiful Babes - 20 months old

So I finally went and got Mya's pictures taken and I think she looks absolutely adorable. I am feeling really bad because with the boys I was always getting their pictures taken and you would think with Mya being my only girl I would be getting hers done ALL the time. Well, maybe that is what happens when it's your third child, but I thought I better go and do it before she gets too big. I do have to say I have TONS of just snapshots so hopefully that counts for something. I'm glad that I finally went.

CANYONLANDS!

All of us in Moab, hey thanks dad for the awesome shirts, we LOVE them! This is a long post, but we had so many awesome pics.

This was all my fam that went to Canyonlands this year. We sure did have a great time. Jennifer, Tanner, Taylor, Mya, Ange, Shayla, Dallin, Jake, Me, and Dad!

How do I describe the most beautiful place on earth if you haven't actually been there yourself. One of my very favorite things to see in Canyonlands is the beautiful orange red rocks against a bright blue sky, it honestly gives me goose bumps every time I see it. I know that a lot of my feelings come with the awesome memories that I have as a child going here with my family, but more than anything I love sharing this now with my kids. They LOVE it. Every summer they say, "mom when is it time to go to the Bat Cave again?" They look forward to it almost as much as I do.

This year was pretty low key, in fact we didn't do as much hiking as normal, partly because of having small kids, but also it was WAY hot. We did some little hikes every day and then let the kids play in the water as well. They had a blast. I love being with my family there, not only Jake and the kids, but my dad and sisters, (we missed my brothers this year!) It's a time for us to hang out and to not have a care in the world, except for a GIANT, GIANT spider that was on my head, GROSS! But we loved that we never even knew what time it was. Thanks Dad for making it yet another amazing time, you have instilled a love for this place and I am more than grateful for that. We've already started planning next year!

Climbing the big giant ladder, the kids get a little scared but still love doing it.
