Over the river and through the woods.................

Ok, so this post will tell a story about our day yesterday of going to hunt for our Christmas Tree. We had a GREAT time, hit a few bumps along the way, but overall it is one of my very favorite Christmas traditions that we have.

Here we are, ready for our big adventure!

Ready to hunt!!! For our tree that is.

Marking our spot, or our tree, hee hee! (Um, what do you do when your kid has to pee?)

Mya playing while we look for a tree

All bundled up, have to have a pic with my sis.

We found the PERFECT tree!

Sawing the tree

Hauling the tree back to our camp

Relaxin

The boys having some fun.

Chillin by the fire.

Lunch time with EVERYONE!

Playing a little and riding the ranger.

Tay's turn to try the gun.

Daxton helping Dallin shoot the gun.

Loading all the trees into the trucks.

Lots of ice, CRASH!!!!!! The trailer with the ranger jack knifed right into Shane's truck. We were right behind them and almost hit Shane, but he was so quick and moved out of the way, but down a little gulley right almost into a big tree. Luckily no one was hurt! Thank goodness.

Taking the trailer with the ranger off to be able to back the truck up.

Trying to push the truck back on the road but it was REALLY stuck, (yah right!)

Stopping for a nice photo op. Shayla and Dad

Using a chain saw to saw this HUGE log out of the trucks way.

The truck stuck

Jake driving the ranger to help guide the truck. And FINALLY got the truck unstuck. Yah hoo! Then it was on our way back home.

Decorating the tree, Dallin was so excited to put the star on this year!

The stockings were hung!

And the tree is decorated! We had a great day. I LOVE this time of year so so much and love the spirit that is in the air. Happy Holidays to everyone!

Family Party for Tay

The fam

We have honestly the best 2 families ever. Everyone came over last night to celebrate Taylor's birthday. We ate pizza, played a guessing game of "what time was Taylor born?", opened presents, ate cake and ice-cream, and just hung out and talked. Everyone was so sweet to Tay and gave him really cool things, thanks everyone for coming, we sure do love you all.

Happy 7th to my big boy!

Delicate Arch, Taylor loves this hike!

Today is my sweet Taylor's 7th brithday. I can't believe that 7 years ago today I became a momma to this amazing kid. Taylor truly is the most sensitive and caring little boy that I have ever seen. I always get compliments from teachers or his friends moms that tell me he is just the nicest boy and always so polite and sweet. That makes me proud as a mom to know that.

Jake and I didn't want to find out what we were having when I was pregnant with Taylor, so to our sweet surprise the Dr. and my sister screamed out, "It's a boy!" I have never been so excited about anything than knowing that I would have this precious little boy. As soon as they put Taylor up on my chest after he was born, the first thing he did was look right into my eyes and I knew at that very moment what a special little guy he was and still is. I love him so very much and I am so proud of the big boy he has become. He is the best big brother, always looking out for Dallin and Mya and making sure they are okay. Jake loves to tell him that he gave him the greatest gift ever, the gift of becoming a dad for the first time. We sure are proud of him and hope that he has a great and happy day today.

What a handsome little guy!

I wanted to list 7 special things about Tay.

1. He is the sweetest, nicest, most caring boy EVER!
2. He is a great little artist, see my post below about him winning the reflections contest in both art and photography.
3. He loves to have things to look forward to, just like me. We plan out our week of fun and exciting things coming up.
4. He loves the outdoors, loves to go camping and hiking.
5. He is my good eater, usually he will try just about anything even if he doesn't like it.
6. He has the most beautiful eyes and is just so darn handsome.
7. He cares so much for people and doesn't like to see people sad.

Happy Birthday buddy, I love you with all my heart!
